Patriotic desserts

It's been a hot summer and I didn't do much baking around the 4th of July. It was 101 degrees that day. So, since then I've been using up some of the colorful baking supplies I'd gotten to celebrate our country's birthday - sprinkles and colored sugar and frosting. Here's some of what we've had lately:


vanilla ice cream cones with red and blue sprinkles

yellow cake with blue frosting and red and white sprinkles

And some red, white and blue decorated cupcakes (on my patriotic platter!) 

It's never too late to show your spirit. And it did kind of tie into the Olympic theme, so all worked out. :)
