A good 'ole American barbecue

Like many others, we had a barbecue on the 4th of July. Here's a peek and a couple of plates from our meal.

I love making corn on the cob on the grill. And although the husks look a little charred, all is good on the inside.

I picked up German bratwurst from Rob's Meats in Dyer, Indiana and topped them with some grilled mushrooms and onion.

And, of course, you have to have burgers with all the trimmings (which included lettuce grown in our garden. The salads were store-bought from Rob's - potato salad and broccoli salad.
