Pekoe & Bean Tea Room & Coffee Bar: Tinley Park, IL

If you have followed the Chicago Foodie Sisters for a bit, you may have caught on that we are a little tea obsessed. Neither of us drinks coffee, but we love a good cup of tea. And we really, really, really love visiting tea rooms to sit and relax and sip from pretty cups while daintily eating finger sandwiches and scones. We are always looking for tea rooms to visit. I was so excited earlier this summer when I was writing an article for a local newspaper on some new businesses in the Tinley Park area and learned about Pekoe & Bean.

I couldn't wait to get together with my foodie sister, Becky, and have some tea and scones there. One day we made a plan to meet up together. We wanted to dine outside and they happen to have two little tables outside of their place, which is located in a strip mall. So, not a real scenic spot to eat - we were just on the sidewalk facing a parking lot and street, but we were quickly swept up by the pretty dishes, lovely sandwiches and delicious scones with homemade clotted cream and jams.

My sister's mother-in-law, Robin, happened to be visiting her that weekend and she joined us, which was a nice treat. I just adore Robin. She's so much fun - as such a girly, frilly kind of way that makes an outing to a tea room absolutely perfect.

I was so excited that they offered the cute standing trays layered with goodies for afternoon tea. We had finger sandwiches, deviled eggs, pickled salad, scones and some other sweet treats. You can also order a la carte - toasts, salads, soups, and sweets.

All of the sandwiches and sweets were mouthwatering and delicious. I thought our lunch was very reasonable at $31 for the tea and 3 tiered dish of savory and sweets. I can't wait to return and to at some point enjoy tea inside the tea room. I made a quick dash in to use the restroom before I left and got a glance at how adorable it is inside. So cute and cozy. Looking forward to another trip there. For more info, visit pekoeandbean.com
