Bombobar

For quite some time I've been admiring photos on the Instagram pages of fellow food bloggers and influencers of the bombolini doughnuts at Bombobar. While I was in the West Loop yesterday with my sister-in-law to visit the Randolph Street market, I was anxious to take a little walk along Randolph - aka Restaurant Row. I had hoped to stop for a bite to eat somewhere along the way, but we had just had breakfast at a pre-opening media event and weren't ready for lunch quite yet. However, I couldn't pass Bombobar without finally stopping for some treats to take home.

So, Bombobar is connected to Bar Sienna at 832 W. Randolph and there's a walk-up window where you can go up and place your order at a kiosk and then pick it up at the window. The Bobolini is an Italian hole-less doughnut and you get little bottles of filling that you can press in and fill yourself. I got a four-pack and it was more reasonable than I expected - $12 for four. There were five flavors - Nutella, salted caramel, raspberry, vanilla bean custard and s'mores.

If you want more than sweets, they also offer breakfast sandwiches, burgers, chicken sandwiches, shakes, fries and coffee. And if you want something sweet besides the doughnuts, they also have houeemade gelato. You can sit and enjoy your goodies in the patio area, which is pup friendly (they even have a few treats goodies on the menu).

There's also a location now in Old Town as well and if you're anywhere near either spot, it's definitely something worth trying. For more info, visit bombobar.com.
