Tradycja Polish Fusion Cuisine

This little Polish oasis is tucked inside a little retail strip on bustling La Grange Avenue in Orland Park. Offering an array of classic comfort food with a twist, the menu is full of dishes made with fresh, quality, seasonal ingredients that are full of flavor.

The unassuming exterior makes for a big surprise when you walk in the door of Tradycja Polish Fusion Cuisine and you are transported to a different place.

I stopped in recently and sampled a bit of the cuisine - and found several other things on the menu I would love to try on a return visit.

We started with an appetizer of grilled, smoked sheep milk cheese with a cranberry sauce and bacon. I'd never had sheep milk before, but loved the salty, soft fried cheese and the accompanying sauce.

Potato pancakes are a favorite appetizer that I order whenever I notice it on a restaurant's menu, so I had to try theirs. They had a perfect crunch on the outside with a soft center and cups of the mandatory applesauce and sour cream.

The highlight for me was the "Juhas" breaded pork chop with garlic mushroom and sheep milk and mozzarella. It was served with creamy mashed potatoes and sautéed sauerkraut. We also tried duck legs with Silesian dumplings, carrots and a cherry thyme sauce, which was delicious.

The waitstaff was dressed in adorable Polish-inspired printed skirts.

I also tried the Tradycja TFC Official Drink, made with lemon and cherry vodka, lemon juice, plum puree, triple sec and plum bitters. It was so refreshing.
