Barbecuing is back

After a crazy spring of rollercoaster weather, we've hit the unofficial start of summer - Memorial Day Weekend. The summer season for us means many days of cooking on our grill and enjoying meals on our backyard patio. 

Today was the first of many meals to include grilled meats - hamburgers, hot dogs, steaks, chicken, pork chops and more. Over the years we have leaned that you can make pretty much anything on the grill that you can make in the oven. I especially love to make pizzas on the grill - particularly when we've got fresh veggies from the garden to top it.

Hubby made some nicely seasoned steaks today, along with green beans and baked beans on the grill and I made a pasta salad to accompany it. I can't wait to get out to the farmers markets and U-picks and start enjoying the tastes of the season.
