Bistro on Sterling Dining Room Open Again

It’s been a rough few months for restaurants in Illinois and particularly ones in Cook County that are not too far from the border, like The Bistro on Sterling. As dining rooms were ordered closed from October through late last month, they pivoted to doing carry-out and curbside or delivery, usually via an app that takes a cut. When your restaurant isn’t too farm from the next state, where you can eat a meal inside when it’s 20 degrees and snowing, it’s hard to compete.

The Bistro on Sterling put up a tent with heaters to extend outdoor dining and there were hearty, loyal customers who braved some cold temps to be able to enjoy a meal. Head Chef, Yvette Zavala said that she’s had customers tell her that they would sit outside just to be able to eat her food.

The Bistro on Sterling has varied menu of pasta, fish, steak, chicken and more. I actually ordered our Christmas dinner from The Bistro on Sterling and loved it and I had ordered other meals for carry-out earlier last year, But, it was so nice to sit in the dining room again and enjoy a meal. Shrimp Scampi Penne was one of the specials the night I was there. I was stopping to meet their executive chef to interview her for a newspaper article, so I got to see her in action. If you haven’t been to The Bistro on Sterling, I highly recommend it. Stop in and enjoy a meal inside (reservations are encouraged) or order for carry-out or curbside pickup.
