La Banque Hotel and La Voute Bistro and Bar in Homewood

Ok, rarely will you see a post on the blog without a photo of food, but this one doesn't (although the next one will have gorgeous pictures of food related to this place.)

I recently attended a media preview lunch for the luxury boutique hotel that opens for business today in Homewood. Although I was there for lunch, we got the full tour of the place and its just too spectacular not to share here, so take a peek.

The building dates back to 1925 and was originally a bank. Covers of some of the safe deposit boxes have been used for room numbers.

With blue being my favorite color, I loved seeing the rich, blue accents in the hallways and rooms.

The 18 guest rooms boast high ceilings and spacious accommodations.

Who wouldn't love to load in this bathtub?

The second floor hallway is decorated in blue and white.

Many elements of the old bank are present throughout the property, like this safe deposit vault door that is now at the entrance of the restaurant, La Voute (The Vault).

The bar inside La Voute features safe deposit boxes as storage drawers and the back wall of the bar is lined with safe deposit box covers.

The centerpiece of La Voute is this vault that has the signature of former FBI director, J. Edgar Hoover on the door.
