Northwest Indiana Food Truck Festival

Food truck season is back, which gets me all kinds of excited! I’m looking forward to noshing on lots of good stuff this season at area events. One food truck event coming up that you won’t want to miss if you love food trucks as much as me is the Northwest Indiana Food Truck Fest, which will behold June 16 from 1 - 9 p.m. at Sunset Hill County Park in Valparaiso with free admission.

Among the vendors wil be South Shore Ovenworks, the Remade Kitchen, Mother Wilma’s Marshmallow Factory and Sizzlebox - with 20 food trucks total as well as live music, entertainment and beer & wine and more.

Back in February, I attended the Northwest Indiana Indoor Food Truck Fest, so I got a little preview of some of the trucks that will be at the big event this month. It was such a fun event held at the Lake County Fairgrounds and it really got me looking forward to summer, even though the snow was falling outside as we chowed down inside. It was so nice to have an event like that in the dead of winter - one where the beer was flowing and the entertainment was fantastic and the food offerings were diverse and delicious.

The main event on June 16 will have plenty of what was found at the winter event, but way, way more. This year the event admission is free, so that's one more reason to head out and enjoy the fun.

  1. I live in Valparaiso and I might go to this but it's on the same day as a parade in downtown Chicago..
