Cajeta de Celaya

Just doing some cleaning of the photo files on my computer and came across this delicious photo. Last fall we were visiting with friends and one had been on a recent trip to Mexico where he brought back some goodies and passed on this jar of Cajeta de Celaya that he  brought back.

When I looked it up, it was described as "sweetened, carmalised goat's milk." It's so creamy and delicious. He said he often puts it on toast. I drizzled some (well, ok it was more than a little drizzle - more like poured) over vanilla ice cream and it was a delicious topping! If you ever come across it in a Mexican grocery, it is definitely worth a try! Or if you know someone traveling there, this is a great foodie souvenir!
