Breakfast at Blue Gate Garden Inn

Shipshwana is a favorite getaway spot for me and my family. We love the slow pace, the pretty scenery of the country landscape, the shops where you can get freshly-made Amish goodies and hand crafted products.

We usually stay at the Blue Gate Garden Inn and it’s my favorite breakfast buffet of any hotel I’ve stayed at. They’ll do made-to-order omelets and then there are pans of hearty comfort food, like biscuits and gravy, breakfast casserole, hash brown casseroles, cinnamon apples and more along with baked good from the bakery at their restaurant located down the street. It definitely blows other “continental breakfast” buffets out of the water where you’re limited to microwaved meats, eggs in bag and cold cereal.

Also, it’s located next to the Blue Gate Performing Arts Center, which has a great line-up of entertainment. If you’re heading there for a show, make it an overnighter and enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet the next morning before you depart.
