Speakeasy at the Spa: Porter, IN
I came across this photo on my phone and had to pop up a post about it. At the very end of October, an unseasonably warm day two days before Halloween, we had temperatures in the 80s. Knowing it would be the last warm burst for a very long time, my friend Janet and I, made a trip out to meet another friend, Shannon, at West Beach.
Somehow, I ended up in the wrong parking lot and never found Shannon who was walking her dog on the beach a little bit east of us, but we wandered the beach for a while looking for her and just soaking in that warm breeze. We took off our flip flops and walked in the sand, dipping our feet in the water. It was a lovely afternoon. From there we drove down the Gary Aquatorium, which I had not been to before. The views of Lake Michigan from there are stunning.
As we were heading back home, we decided to stop for a drink and Janet suggested the Speakeasy at the Spa in Chesterton. I hadn't been there before and was excited to check out a new place. I got this tasty sangria and we sipped and lamented on how quickly the summer had passed by. We popped in to the lovely banquet hall there, too, which is a beautiful event setting. Within the building, you'll also find a Pizzeria Uno location there and I can't wait to try it out and see how it compares to the Chicago location.
