Italian, Small Batch Wines Featured at La Buona Vita Wine Dinner

We've been hearing about microbreweries and craft distilleries for years now, but it's not so common to hear of small-batch wineries. In reality there are many, but there just doesn't seem to have been the same emphasis in recent years as on beer and spirits.

An upcoming dinner at the posh La Buona Vita in La Grange will feature five wines that are small-batch versions from boutique wineries in Italy paired with scratch-made, authentic Northern Italian cuisine. I can't think of a better way to spend a late spring evening. Read on for all the details.

La Buona Vita’s Exclusive Wine Dinner Pairs Authentic, Scratch-Made Northern Italian Cuisine with Boutique, Small-Batch Italian Wines

Select wines being brought from Italy for one-of-a-kind dining event on June 20

LA GRANGE, IL (May 22, 2017) – Wine lovers, take note! On Tuesday evening, June 20, La Buona Vita, along with Pure Wines, will host an exclusive Wine Dinner from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. that celebrates and pairs northern Italian cuisine with boutique wines from northern Italy. Diners will benefit from sharing the experience with Ryan Wichman, one of Chicago’s most respected sommeliers. The $85 cost includes tax and tip.

Five Italian wines will be brought to La Buona Vita from Italy exclusively for this event, and a limited selection will be available for purchase. “This is an exciting opportunity for our diners to experience the true marriage of Italian food and wine,” said La Buona Vita Chef Terry Rempert. “We make our pasta every day with an authentic extruder, which isn’t common in Italian restaurants here. But that level of authenticity really deserves to be paired with these kinds of small-batch wines so that our diners can experience first-hand what true Italian dining is!”

“This wine dinner is a special occasion, when you consider how hand-made Chef Terry’s pasta and food is, and how hand-made these wines are,” said Thomas. “We are bringing in small-production wines that are quite storied in northern Italy, for the unique experience of pairing them with authentic northern Italian cuisine for the American audience.”

The evening will begin with a reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner from 7:00-9:30 p.m.
