My son the steak master
In recent years, one of my boys has become the steak maker in the family. A few years ago, in his early teens, he started manning the grill for get-togethers and then I'd often ask him to throw some meat on the grill for me. Lately he has been doing a lot of smoking and also cooking on the Blackstone flat top grill. He's now 19.
Yesterday he decided to make some steaks. He told me he was doing a reverse sear by first cooking them in the smoker and then adding a sear on the Blackstone. He also had seasoned them well, which gave them a nice little crust. I had some Omaha steaks in the freezer that he made and this filet was quite tasty using his smoke-then-sear method. He can cook for me anytime. :)
