Pekoe and Bean
Raise your hand if you love afternoon tea!
The foodie sisters will always raise our hands for time in a tea room. We’ve fallen in love with Pekoe and Bean in suburban Tinley Park. It’s got different rooms to accommodate groups, but each has cute decor and an eclectic mix of tables and chairs and china.
Our nephew will be getting married in April and our soon-to-be niece, Caelah is also a tea lover. We were excited to hear that her mom had been planning a fun tea party shower at a historic home in Chicago’s Beverly area.
While our sister-in-law (the groom’s mom) was in town the week before, we decided to to have another little shower - and to also follow the tea room. So, the aunts on the grooms side joined the bride there for some gifts to pamper her and we enjoyed the afternoon tea option there.
It’s $39 and includes scones with clotted cream, tea sandwiches and desserts on pretty tiered platters along with a pot of tea. We enjoyed sampling each tea and nibbling on the sweets and sandwiches, which were all delicious. I was so happy to see cucumber sandwiches on the plater - they are a definite favorite and they just never taste the same when I make them at home.
I look forward to getting back there soon. If you’re looking for a place for a girls outing, put it at the top of your list.
