Baconmania Madness Kicks Off April 1 at ACME Hotel Company

You had us at bacon. At least that's how ACME Hotel Company feels about the precious cured meat...but there's more, way more. The boutique lifestyle alternative hotel in River North is proving their passion for pork with a whole month dedicated to the savory treat in honor of the cult favorite, Baconfest Chicago happening April 25-26. Starting with a bacon-themed cocktail party on April 1 followed by a weekly series of Kevin Bacon Movie Nights, free bacon nail art and a bacon cocktail demo with Benjamin Schiller at The Berkshire Room, the official hotel sponsor of Baconfest isn't missing a bacon beat. Not to mention fully decking out the hotel in bacon décor and a room package with two shiny tickets to Baconfest. So grab a savory strip, sit back and read on to find out about all of the Baconmania happenings at ACME this April.

• Bacon Fun for Everyone! 

All guests staying at ACME Hotel Company, the official hotel sponsor of Baconfest Chicago, during the month of April enjoy a 360-degree bacon experience from the moment they arrive. It all starts with the soothing sounds of the Bacon Brothers playlist playing throughout the hotel, along with a tricked out lobby full of meaty décor, and a bacon-themed gift for guests upon arrival. The retail area of course takes on the theme as well, featuring an assortment of bacon goodies including bacon lip balm, luggage tags, cookbooks, soap, toothpaste and more so guests can take a piece of Baconmania home. All proceeds from Baconmania retail items purchased in April will be donated to the Greater Chicago Food Depository.

• Baconfest Bacon Month Kick-off Cocktail Party | April 1, 7:00-10:00pm

Two days of bacon is just not enough, so ACME Hotel Company and The Berkshire Room partnered with Baconfest Chicago to kick off Baconmania in style. Marking the official start to Baconfest's Bacon Month and ACME's Baconmania, the Baconfest Bacon Month Kick-off Cocktail Party takes place April 1 from 7pm to 10pm at The Berkshire Room. Featuring bacon-themed cocktails from resident bartender Benjamin Schiller as well as creations from Danny Shapiro from Scofflaw and Annemarie Sagoi from The Dawson. The Berkshire Room executive chef Chris "Chip" Davies and executive pastry chef Chris Teixeira are also whipping up some bacon snacks including chocolate covered bacon, BLT sliders and other treats. The ticketed event includes a raffle for a one-night stay at the ACME Hotel during Baconfest weekend (April 25-26) and bacon swag bags for all of the meat-loving partygoers. All guests receive one cocktail from each bartender and a can of Labatt Blue from sponsor LabattUSA. Tickets are $30 and available for purchase here.

• Makin' Bacon Cocktails with Benjamin Schiller | April 8, 7:00-8:30pm

Bring home the bacon with cocktail recipes from The Berkshire Room beverage director Benjamin Schiller. Drink enthusiasts learn how to get that magical bacon flavor into their homemade cocktails and get a taste of the real thing while sipping one made by Schiller. The demo is open to the public and free to attend with space available for up to 25 people on a first come first served basis. It takes place in 'Einstein' on the second level of the hotel and each attendee receives one complimentary bacon cocktail.

• Kevin Bacon Movie Night | Thursdays in April at 7:00pm

Kicking off April 3, ACME Hotel Company hosts Kevin Bacon Movie Night every Thursday in the 'Einstein' space on the second level of the hotel. Guests and other Kevin Bacon fans can catch the beloved actor on screen in favorites like Footloose, Apollo 13, A Few Good Men, Picture Perfect, The River Wild, Crazy. Stupid. Love. and more. The hotel provides complimentary bacon dusted popcorn from The Berkshire Room and wine, beer and cocktails are available for purchase. Movie nights are open to the public and take place every Thursday in April starting at 7pm.

• Free Bacon Nail Art | Wednesdays from April 2 to April 23 | 4:30pm to 6:30pm

As if bacon wasn't pretty enough...guests of the ACME can have bacon-adorned nails to truly get in the Baconmania spirit. Starting Wednesday, April 2 through Wednesday, April 23, hotel guests can enjoy their beloved bacon just by looking at their nails with a special bacon nail art manicure from a certified nail artist. Taking place in 'Einstein' on the second level of the hotel, bacon nail art mani's are free for hotel guests and cost $20 for outside guests. Bacon-dusted popcorn and wine is available to enjoy while nails are drying or between appointments. Reservations are required in advance and can be made with the front desk.
