Passport to Provence
The Provence Travel and Wine 2014 showcase was hosted at the Public Hotel Chicago. I enjoyed a wonderful afternoon filled with a few of my favorite things. Wines from Provence, wonderful Provencal cuisine and travel information to one of the most luxurious and fashionable spots on the Mediterranean, Saint -Tropez.
The featured wine that was the main star of the show, Rose' originated in Provence. With the harvest of the vines in September, this can make a wonderful time to visit the area. A beautiful region filled with the smells of lavender, Provence has something for everyone.
The afternoon feast consisted of Tuna Nicoise Salad, Penne Pasta with Tomatoes, Basil, Garlic and Capers and Seared Chicken Provencal with Roasted potatoes, sweet garlic and white wine. Lets not forget desert, a fresh fruit tart and delicious Lavender cookies.
For those foodie fans who love a good bouillabaisse, try pairing it with a chilled glass of Rose' and close your eyes, I bet you can smell the Lavender. Your passport to Provence is closer than you think.
