Gourmet Burgers at Thornton Distilling Co. in Thornton, IL

Thornton Distilling is quite the gem in the South Suburbs. Located in the tiny village of Thornton, which sits along side the Thornton Quarry, it is believed to be the oldest standing original brewery building in the state. It began as a brewery and over the years changed hands and served different purposes. Most recently, it's been a distillery and tasting room as well as a restaurant and event space.

Some of the newer menu items include gourmet burgers along with tacos, chili and wings. I tried two of them on my last visit and they are hands down the best burgers in the area - just way next level over anything in Thornton or the surrounding communities. Definitely a place to plan to visit in 2023 if you haven't been there yet!
