The Bedford kicks off weeknight dining events


I found a press release in my inbox from the Bedford in Wicker Park. Take a look at what's cooking up over there:


Wednesday:  Garden Greens + Half-priced Glasses
Daring diners, ditch the pre-bagged produce for some fresh farmer’s greens!  Kicking off on Wednesday, July 11th at The BedfordChef Mark Steuer will be heading out to Green City Market to find the finest salad accoutrements for dinner that same evening.  The once-a-week dining affair will include a Farmer’s Market salad for $12, along with half-priced glasses of wine (like the Folie A Deux Chardonnay or the Bouchard Aine & Fils Pinot Noir – just a few from a long list of offerings). 
Of course, the salad special will be switched out every Wednesday based on what Chef Mark finds at the market that day.  If the pick-of-the-week doesn’t suit your fancy, there will also be the option of indulging in any of the other salads on the menu for $12. 
No need to worry about emptying out that piggy bank or indulging too early in the week – The Bedford has you covered with only the freshest and finest.  A Director on the Green City Market Junior Board, Chef Mark’s investment in local farms and seasonal cooking is sure to shine through with a series of sensational salads.

Thursday:  Bubbles + Oysters
Back by popular demand after a very long winter away is the always-requested Bubbles + Oysters special at The Bedford.  Kicking off on Thursday, July 12th, come one come all for a dozen oysters and half-priced glasses or bottles of champagne.  The most glamorous way to start a summer weekend, enjoy sipping on only the best sparkling wines (such as the Moet Imperial Brut Reserve or Varichon + Clerc Blanc de Blancs) while gracefully slurping on the shellfish.  The oysters will be prepared the “old-fashioned way” and flavored with lemon and mignonette. 
And while we can’t promise any pearls, we will have a few experts on hand that can help with pairings and offer a few tips on consumption! 
Additionally, stay tuned for various DJ sets to help further set the tone for a trendy Thursday evening, lettingThe Bedford carry you into the weekend ahead.
