Breakfast at Goldmoor Inn

Disclosure: My stay was hosted by Goldmoor Inn. I was not compensated for this post. All opinions are my own.

Last month, my husband and I took a little trip out to Galena, Illinois. If you have never been there, it is one of those places that I recommend that everyone should visit once. But once you go, you'll fall in love and have to go back. I've never known anyone to say, "Yeah, Galena was ok. Been there done that."

The community is in this cool time warp where when you look down the main street, if all the cars were missing you might think you were there in 1919 rather than 2019. There's this lovely historic charm and such natural beauty. We enjoyed some of those gorgeous natural surroundings from our room at the Goldmoor Inn overlooking the Mississippi River Valley.

From our room we had a lovely view of the river. We opted to have breakfast delivered to our room and enjoyed it by the windows looking out over the river valley. A horse farm sat below. Birds gathered on the feeders outside the window. Trains chugged along on a track that literally runs through the river with water along both sides of the raised tracks.

It's a place that offers such peaceful, secluded luxury and we really didn't want to part ways after we enjoyed our breakfast. We actually did opt for a couple's massage before checking out and it was heavenly.

Anyway, more on the inn to come in an additional post on the travel blog, but this post is for ogling over the lovely views and the scrumptious breakfast, which is included in your stay.
