Texas Roadhouse in Dyer

Each year when we go to pick out our real Christmas tree as a family, we all go to dinner together afterwards. Most years we have picked out our tree in Schererville or Munster, Indiana and then gone to Texas Corral in Highland. The kids like the meat-filled menu and the buckets of peanuts on the table. It's also inexpensive, which is helpful when it's me dining with my husband and five hungry boys.

This year we decided to head further south on Indianapolis at try out Texas Roadhouse. I had been there once many years ago, but the rest of the family had not been there. When I took a look at the website and saw that there was a Wednesday night special - the Wild West Wednesday special - with an 8 oz. sirloin and two sides for $9.99, that sealed the deal.

Most of the boys went for the 8 oz. sirloin and we ordered a Cactus Blossom (fried onion) appetizer and beverages. All six of us had a filling meal and it totaled about $90. That's a total win. And really, it didn't taste like a $10 steak - it was good quality and perfectly cooked.
