Sushi demonstration available at Shaw's Crab House

Found this press release in my inbox and wanted to share. This sounds like a lovely event that I'm sure would be a blast to participate in with a couple girlfriends or as a couples outing. I took part in a sushi demonstration last winter at another Chicago restaurant and it was loads of fun, I learned a lot and I got to sample all the delicious dishes we learned to make. I think this would also be a great gift for any foodies in your life! Reservations are required and are limited, so mark your calendar and channel your inner sushi chef. :)

 

SUSHI SCHOOL WITH CHEF NAOKI

AT SHAW’S CHICAGO

(Chicago, IL)—Shaw’s Sushi Chef Naoki Nakashima, an authority on Japanese cuisine and etiquette, will lead an interactive Japanese sushi demonstration at Shaw’s Chicago on the fourth Saturday of each month—August 24^th, September 28^th and October 26^th.  All of the classes begin at 12:00 noon. At Shaw’s Chicago Sushi School, students will learn from expert Sushi Chef Naoki Nakashima how to master skills of the Japanese kitchen in a fun and interactive way. Each class will feature hands-on learning and teach students how to make and roll maki. The schedule for the Sushi School classes is as follows:

August 24, 2013 – Sushi Basics: How to make sushi rice, maki and nigiri

September 28, 2013 – Sushi on the Pacific Rim: tuna and guacamole, Acapulco Roll and tacos—Japan meets Mexico!

October 26, 2013 – Tokyo Sushi Party: delicious sushi appetizers, perfect for any party
