DESIGN:
Including many of the space's original features, County's design unites both nostalgic and new. Designer Jodi Morton of2 to 5 Design kept the space's infrastructure intact, updating the original wood panels and light fixtures, while introducing colorful and modern plaid patterns throughout. For items that were not salvageable, Jodi used vintage and second-hand materials to replicate the look and feel of the original space, including weathered butcher blocks for the tabletops, vintage chairs and worn wood floors. She also used textiles to create black and red checked blankets, which cover a large cozy banquette.
Jason Pickleman of JNL Graphic Design created an eyecatching, colorful plaid pattern, which graces the building's exterior, welcoming guests to the cozy establishment.
The result is a homey, eclectic space that commemorates both the history of the building and the neighborhood.
Music also plays a major role in the County experience, honoring the best of blues, R&B and USA's finest rock.
Bringing the barbeque to the backyard, a 50-seat patio will open in late summer.
